tachograph, trip recorder  r Fahrtenschreiber (-)
   A tachograph electronically records a truck or bus driver's speed, plus driving and rest times. The EU requires trip recorders for safety reasons on European roads. Newer, more tamper-proof digital models are now replacing the older analog trip recorders.
