Remember, the instructions said you had to to include the correct gender/article for nouns, as in: day = der Tag. For special German characters you should have typed: ae for ä, oe for ö, ue for ü, and ss for ß. Yes, capitalization and spelling DID count!

 1. daily newspaper = die Tageszeitung

 2. day after tomorrow = uebermorgen (übermorgen)

 3. for days on end = tagelang

 4. to this day = bis zum heutigen Tag

 5. yesterday = gestern

 6. during the day = tagsueber [tagsüber - one word! - Also: im Laufe des Tages]

 7. today of all days = ausgerechnet heute ['ausgerechnet' = of all things, of all days, etc.]

 8. daylight saving time = die Sommerzeit [details about 'Sommerzeit' in our Time Glossary]

 9. weekdays, workdays = werktags [no caps! This is an adverbial expression, not a noun]

10. from this day on = von heute an

11. the good old days = die guten alten Zeiten ['times' rather than 'days' in German]

12. day by day = von Tag zu Tag

13. all day = den ganzen Tag [such time expressions are in the accusative case (den)]

14. these days = heutzutage [similar to English "nowadays"]

15. day trip = der Tagesausflug [an 'Ausflug' is an excursion or short trip]
