Land und Leute: Nationalities and Languages in German

Monday July 12, 2004
Lesson 6 of German for Beginners teaches you how to talk about nationalities, adjectives of nationality, and languages in German. One difference between English and German is that adjectives of nationality are not capitalized in German: "a German car" = "ein deutsches Auto." Most countries are neuter (das), but not all. Do you know which lands—one of them German-speaking— are the exceptions? This lesson includes audio examples, exercises, and a German-English glossary of nations and nationality.
