Comparison: gut, besser, am besten

The comparison of adjectives in German generally works in a way that is similar to English. An Austrian brewery advertises its Gösser beer brand with the phrase: "gut, besser, Gösser" ("good, better, Gösser"). The German edition of Reader's Digest used to be called Das Beste (...aus Reader's Digest). But there are a few tricks you need to know if you want to speak or write the best German possible!
