This seems wrong to me. Everyone in Germany calls it Germenglish. It developed initially via advertising and marketing speak thus you end up with things like ‘Ich habe Sie Ge-emailed’. Many Germans find some English ( and Particularly American English) cool which then led to the boom in using English words with a German article attribution e.g die Business Class.
Germenglish??? This is the first time i hear that word in my entire life. I don´t know anyone who uses this word :/
From today’s Darmstädter Echo: der Training, der Trainingsort, das Polizeitrainingslager, die Trainingsstätte.
*sigh*
Spotted in today’s (10. Januar 2008) Darmstädter Echo: der Training and many uses of it in compound nouns (e.g., der Trainingsort).
