Of the 82 million people living in Germany an estimated 300,000 to 500,000 have some form of African heritage. Germany's blacks fall into several historical and ancestral categories. A few Afrodeutsche are well-known as writers, TV personalities, sports figures, and actors. One of the very first black persons in Germany was Anton Wilhelm Amo from Ghana. I would like to add that there were Africans that was brought with the French Army during the brief French occupation before WWI that also had German-African offspring that grew up in Germany - even through WWII. Also there were a lot of German-African children from the colonies of German occuplied South-West Africa (Namibia) which has a rich and sometimes turbulant history.
There are many more in the U.S.
