German Loan Words in English

Katharine ("Kerry") Close won the 2006 Scripps National Spelling Bee by correctly spelling the German word "Ursprache." The runner-up, Canadian Finola Hackett, misspelled the German word "Weltschmerz," starting with a "v" instead of "w."
