The following dictionary is an annotated English-to-German glossary of words and expressions that are likely to be encountered in business situations in Austria, Germany, or Switzerland.

social market economy die Sozialmarktwirtschaft

Post-war German economic philosophy developed by Ludwig Erhard and Alfred Müller-Armack under which free competition has priority over central planning. The latter is only used to promote social economic benefits.
