Hyde Flippo, your Guide to German, visits chat and the forums from time to time, but he depends on the chat and forum hosts to take care of most of the day-to-day moderating/management. FORUM MANAGER
Brigitte Dubiel is our Forum Manager for German. Brigitte was born and raised in Frankfurt, Germany, where she studied music (she plays piano and organ) and Germanistik. She has been living in the United States for many years, since 1970 in Texas, where she and her husband have raised three children. Brigitte has many years of experience teaching German—with Berlitz and at the college level. She is the author of a German grammar text, Deutsch macht Spaß, and she also does some tutoring for German. Her many interests include etymology (origin of words) and genealogy. You'll see her posts in our two German forums: Das Deutsche Forum (in German) and the German Forum (in German and English).
CHAT MANAGER
Gabi West is our Chat Manager for German. She is a native of Germany who came to the US in 1971. Gabi met her American husband in Germany when he was stationed near her hometown of Kassel. They now live in North Carolina and have three sons and a grandson. Gabi operates her own JuicePlus+® business, about which you can learn more here: www.juiceplus.com. She also enjoys reading, listening to classical music and watching movies. Besides her chat duties, Gabi is also a participant in our two forums: The German Forum and Das Deutsche Forum.

Volunteer Hosts
Brigitte, Gabi, and Hyde can't be everywhere all the time, so they are assisted by several volunteer hosts. Our invaluable volunteer hosts help conduct chat sessions or manage the many messages and folders in the forums. They are people who have been with us long enough to demonstrate their knowledge and ability to do the job. We couldn't do it all without their help!

If YOU have been a regular German forum or chat participant for at least three months, have suitable Internet and German skills (hosts must be bilingual in German and English), and would like to volunteer as either a chat or forum helper, please contact Brigitte (forums) or Gabi (chat) directly to apply. (Please note, as the term "volunteer" implies, chat and forum assistant hosts are not paid!)
