About this card: The photo was taken by your Guide inside the Silent Night Chapel in Oberndorf, Austria. The chapel was built between 1924 and 1937 to commemorate the birth of the world's most famous Christmas carol. The original Sankt Nicola Kirche (church) in which the song was first performed on Christmas Eve of 1818 was torn down in 1906. For more about Silent Night and Christmas, see Weihnachten.
