Amadeus (1984)
Director Milos Forman's masterpiece about the Austrian composer is now available in a special 2-DVD edition (2002).

Casablanca (1942)
What? You didn't know about this classic film's numerous Germanic connections? Germans, Germans, everywhere... actually a lot of Austrians, too. You'll even hear a few lines in German. (Details at the German-Hollywood Connection Web site.) DVD.

Eyes Wide Shut (1999)
This R-rated film is not for high school students, but it is suited for German lit classes and a comparison with Arthur Schnitzler's 1926 "Traumnovelle" Austrian original. DVD.

Marlene Dietrich: Her Own Song (2001)
This new documentary on Dietrich - directed by her grandson J. David Riva - concentrates on her efforts to support American troops during World War II. In German and English. DVD.

Thomas Crown Affair (1999)
The René Russo German interrogation scene is fun to watch/hear, as is the entire film (but not for German). (Also see the original 1968 film on DVD - with Steve McQueen.) 1999 DVD.
