SONG BACKGROUND
Bob Dylan first released “Forever Young” in 1974. The song became a big hit and eventually a Bob Dylan classic. A few years later Austrian musicians Wolfgang Ambros and André Heller translated Dylan’s song into Austrian German as “Für immer jung” and released it in 1978. The lyrics below are a literal translation of the Austrian (Viennese) dialect version by Ambros and Heller. Also see Bob Dylan's original English lyrics.
