5. Which three of these films do you consider the best German sound films for German-learners?

Note Before You Vote! Some of the criteria used in selecting the films listed below include: (1) must be a sound film in German, (2) must be generally available on video or DVD in the English-speaking world, and (3) must be appealing to German-learners in some way (entertaining, easily understood, etc.). The intended audience is German-learners who are at least 18 years old.

Although classic German silent films like "Metropolis" or "Nosferatu" are certainly worth watching, they don't provide any spoken German. Even some older talkies from the '30s may need a teacher's special introduction. Newer German films are not yet available on video outside of Europe, even though they may be available in German.
