About the Winners
The entrants' photos were judged for the best, most imaginative German classroom display. The quality and composition of the photograph was not as important as the classroom display itself. We were looking for the best overall classroom presentation of posters, signs, flags, and other German-related realia. The two winning photos also followed the contest rules by showing at least two classroom walls and as much of the classroom's decorations as possible. The winning photos (see below) earned each teacher a hardcover German-English dictionary for the classroom.
THE WINNERS (in order of receipt):
- Ava Wyatt - Dalton High School, Dalton, Georgia, USA
- Robin Tessereau - Hamilton High School, Sussex, Wisconsin, USA

Notice the Litfaßsäule next to the Trabi painting (left, by
students). Flags of the German-speaking countries
cover the bookshelves in the back. On the ceiling tiles
are crests of the German states (also painted by students).

regional flags hanging from the ceiling, as well as maps
