Das Leben ist wie ein Kinderhemd, kurz und beschissen. = Life is like a kid's shirt - short and crappy.
COMMENT: A note about German words with forms of scheißen (as in "beschissen"). The German equivalent of the English s-word is not really the same thing. Because its use in German is milder than in English, forms of Scheiße are often better translated with "damn" or "crap" than with the literal English translation.
