NOTE: When entering a smaller German shop, it is customary to exchange hello's with the shopkeeper or sales clerk. See the procedure for leaving below.

NOTE: German stores usually offer two big sales each year: the Sommerschlussverkauf in late summer and the Winterschlussverkauf towards the end of winter.
