Aufgaben für Webjagd 1

On the r.s.2 home page, observe and/or click on any items required to answer the following questions:

A. Look at the menu bar at the top of the home page.

  1. What are the five main labels?
  2. What choices do you see if you move the cursor over "Aktuell"? (don't click yet!)
  3. You can listen to this station live on the Web. How?
    TIP: If your computer is set up for audio, listen to r.s.2 in the background as you complete the rest of this exercise! (Use headphones if you're in a library or classroom!)
  4. Briefly describe two news stories from r.s.2 today.

B. Observe the home page and use any links required to answer these questions:

  1. What is the frequency of this radio station? In which city is r.s.2 located?
  2. What kind of music does this station play?
  3. What is today's weather forecast? (German & English)
  4. What other information can you gather from this first page?

C. Click on "Programm" > "Moderatoren" (DJs, announcers). Select any two of the males and answer these questions for each of the two...

  1. Wie heißt dieser Moderator?
  2. In both German and English, list four facts you learned about each of the persons you chose.

D. Find the female DJ named "Katrin Schifelbein" and answer these questions:

  1. What is her daughter's name?
  2. Favorite color?
  3. What is her astrological sign?

E. Observe the site and use any links required to answer these questions:

  1. Find the "rs2-Top 20." How many of the songs are in German (w/ artists)? Languages other than English?
  2. What time is it in your time zone and in Germany right now? (Use 24-hour time for both.)
  3. Are there any live concerts or events coming up? Who? Where?
  4. What r.s.2 podcasts are available?
  5. If you have been listening to the r.s.2 live broadcast for at least 20 minutes, how often have you heard a song in German?

BONUS QUESTION (optional): What was r.s.2 before it became known by that name? What was its "mission" then? (This may require some research at other sites!)
