NOTE: There are many different terms for many different kinds of bread in German. Just for rolls alone, there are dozens of regional words. In southern Germany eine Schrippe is known as ein Kipf (with more pointed ends). But ein Kipferl is Austrian for what is known as ein Hörnchen (a croissant) in northern Germany.
