Tipp des Tages - Part of German for Beginners
Aussprache: German spelling and pronunciation are much more consistent than in English. If you learn the sound of certain letter combinations, such as diphthongs (eu, äu, au, ei, ie, etc.), you can pronounce them correctly in any German word. For instance, the eu sound (oy) is the same in Europa, neu, or heute.
By the same token, consonant pairs like th (t), or the sch (sh) spelling will always sound the same in any word.
