Der Tipp Nr. 14
leben/wohnen: German has two verbs that can mean to live. But they are different; one means to reside somewhere (wohnen), the other means to be alive (leben). The verb leben can also be used for to reside, but wohnen cannot be used in the sense of to be alive. To keep them straight, think of the related noun die Wohnnung, which means a place to reside, and apartment or flat.
