Marktl am Inn: Gedenktafel (Plaque)

Geburtshaus von Papst Benedikt XVI
(House Where Pope Benedict XVI Was Born)
This plaque honors the former Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI, who was born in this house on April 16, 1927 in the Bavarian town of Marktl am Inn. The "K+M+B" chalked on the door (left in photo) is the traditional "bless this house" inscription found in Bavaria and Austria. Do you know what the letters (more often "C+M+B") stand for? - See answer.
