German Verb Conjugations
HABEN: Conjugated in All Tenses
Subjunctive Mood Konjunktiv
The German verb haben conjugated in all its tenses
Commands - Imperativ
|There are three command (imperative) forms, one for each "you" word. In addition, the "let's" form is used with wir.|
|haben wir||let's have|
Subjunctive I - Konjunktiv I
|The subjunctive is a mood, not a tense. The Subjunctive I (Konjunktiv I) is based on the infinitive form of the verb. It is most often used to express indirect quotation (indirekte Rede).|
|ich habe (hätte)*||I have|
|du habest||you have|
|*NOTE: Because the Subjunctive I (Konjunktiv I) of "haben" and some other verbs is sometimes identical to the indicative (normal) form, the Subjunctive II is sometimes substituted, as in the items marked.|
|wir haben (hätten)*||we have|
|ihr habet||you (guys) have|
|sie haben (hätten)*||they have|
|Sie haben (hätten)*||you have|
Subjunctive II - Konjunktiv II
|The Subjunctive II (Konjunktiv II) expresses wishful thinking, contrary-to-reality situations and is used to express politeness. The Subjunctive II is based on the simple past tense (Imperfekt).|
|ich hätte||I would have|
|du hättest||you would have|
|he would have
she would have
it would have
|wir hätten||we would have|
|ihr hättet||you (guys) would have|
|sie hätten||they would have|
|Sie hätten||you would have|
|Since the Subjunctive is a mood and not a tense, it can be used in various tenses. Below are several examples.|
|er habe gehabt||he is said to have had|
|ich hätte gehabt||I would have had|
|sie hätten gehabt||they would have had|
