Quiz: Adjective/Adverb Comparison
Übung (Exercise)
A Self-Scoring Quiz
In Part One of this lesson we reviewed how the positive, comparative, and superlative forms of adjectives and adverbs are handled in Germanand how to use these comparisons in a sentence. Now you can quiz yourself on how well you learned what we discussed in Part One.
Please don't attempt the following exercise without having first gone over Part One, especially the section on irregular comparisons. And remember, as we pointed out in Part One, German never uses "more" (mehr) with another modifier to form the comparative, but always uses the -er ending: schöner (more beautiful), intelligenter (more intelligent).
INSTRUCTIONS: Complete items 1-5 with the logical superlative form of the adjective/adverb indicated in ( ).
NOTE: For all exercises below, please write umlauts as "ae" (ä), "oe" (ö), or "ue" (ü). The "ß" character should be written as "ss."
