2005 EINSTEIN EVENTS

- 13. Januar - Year of Physics - Jahr der Physik - Sponsored by UNESCO, Paris
- 19. Januar - Einstein Lectures - ÖAW (Austrian Academy of Science), Vienna, until autumn
- 19. Januar - Official Opening of Einstein Year - Deutsches Historisches Museum, Berlin
- 20-22. Januar - Conference: Albert Einstein and His Century - Berlin
- 8. März - 6. Mai - Albert Einstein - Jew, Zionist, Non-Conformist - Centrum Judaicum, Berlin
- 18. April - Lichtstrahl aus Princeton - Light Beam from Princeton - Under the motto "Physics enlightens the world," a beam of light goes around the world from Princeton to honor Einstein.

Klaus Fuchs (German, 1911-1988): Manhattan Project; convicted of spying for Russia in 1950
Otto Hahn (German, 1879-1968): Nuclear fission research, 1944 Nobel Prize. Worked with Lise Meitener (below).
Werner Heisenberg (German, 1901-1976): Quantum theory, the uncertainty principle, Nobel Prize 1932.
Lise Meitner (Austria, 1878-1968): Nuclear fission research, split uranium atom in 1938.
Max Planck (German, 1858-1947): Quantum physics, brought Einstein to Berlin
Fritz Strassmann (Germany, 1902-1980): Nuclear fission research.
