The following is a list of colloquial expressions indicating enthusiasm, indifference and displeasure. Most can be used for both spoken and written German, however due to their colloquial nature, these expressions are more appropriate for informal letters and e-mail. The sentences/phrases in the list are only examples of one way these expressions may be said. Just like in English, you can word the expressions differently. For instance, you can simply say
Prima! instead of
Das ist prima! or
Sie redet nur Quatsch! instead of
Was für ein Quatsch!
