My Review

To begin with, I have never seen and am not familiar with dual-language books. I find that reading magazines, news articles and books in one's target language is very helpful in acquiring knowledge of new words and expressions.

Sadly, in my area (in the US!), available works in the German language are nearly non-existent. I use the Internet for online reading of German news and magazines, and occasionally peruse used bookstores and second hand thrift markets for original, German published works. This is where I find most of my German hard literature (but not much is available here either, however). I have also received several books and magazines from overseas friends who I have met online. these materials are the best way to get exposed to a written foreign language, in real life circumstances.

I really appreciate the helpful hints and study material that About.com offers. I have found that anything available for purchase locally, in the way of language learning books, leaves a lot to be desired. Apparently, all the language tools offered here in the US are written by native Americans, and the materials are full of erroneous (wrong) and outdated lesson instructions. I have verified this many times with native speakers. So I wish to thank About.com for the great material they offer and the intuitive method they use to present it.

Would you recommend this to a friend?

Yes
