Persönlichkeit 9 - Wer bin ich?
Obwohl viele mich für Berlinerin und Deutsche halten, bin ich eigentlich im Jahre 1898 in Wien geboren. Schon als Achtjährige war ich in einem kleinen Wanderzirkus. Als Tänzerin in Zürich bekam ich meinen Künstlernamen. In den zwanziger Jahren war ich eine Art „Superstar“ auf der Bühne in Berlin. Besonders erfolgreich wurde ich als Jenny in der „Dreigroschenoper“, zu der mein Mann die Musik komponiert hatte. Später in den USA war ich bekannter als Filmschauspielerin und weniger als Interpretin, obwohl ich auch am Broadway spielte. In den sechziger Jahren spielte ich Nebenrollen in Filmen wie „Der römische Frühling der Mrs. Stone“ (1961) und in dem britischen James Bond-Film „From Russia with Love“ (1963). Ich starb am 27. November 1981 in New York. - Wer bin ich?
